B.A. 在社会学
A Bachelor of 艺术 degree 在社会学 includes an examination of basic theories and methods in sociology and the application of sociological knowledge to a specific concentration consisting of 12 credits to be chosen in consultation with the student’s advisor. The program includes the core courses in sociology, two theory and two research, as well as concentration courses. 研究生s will be prepared for employment in a variety of contexts such as conducting program analysis, social research, and related areas.

Dr. 安吉·亨德森(安吉.henderson@奇怪的人.edu) is the 社会学 研究生 Program 协调员. 每个社会学M.A. 学生有一个 教师 顾问 assigned to them for the first year of the program. 教务顾问 is listed in Degree Works in 大熊星座. During the student’s second semester or after at least 9 credits are completed in the program, students will complete an MA Committee Application form to determine whether they will complete a research report or thesis.
研究生 Assistantships
Each semester, the Department of 社会学 offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to students who have been admitted to the 研究生 Program. Most assistantships pay a 4-month stipend for in-state students and are awarded based on qualifications. 州外 assistantships are available in some cases. 研究生 assistants work closely with professors in teaching and/or research activity and are appointed on a semester-by-semester 基础.
